A double digital control configuration and independent torque to the front and rear wheels, giving the model X ALL-wheel drive. In P90D form, the front engine is rated at 259 horsepower, while the rear punches in a 503. Combined, the X-model pumps 713 lb.-feet of torque. With the “absurd” mode contracted, Tesla says the model X sprints to 96 km/h in 3.2 seconds. The most notable feature of the X model is its gull wing doors — “Falcon Wing” in Tesla’s language — that articulate and get out of the way. Tesla is fond of making the midnight upgrades to their product line, and today they simplify their options on the model S and X once again, making several standard options and merging others into a single “Premium Upgrade Package”.
The main changes are that the S and X model now come with several enhanced lighting options included (LED fog lights, three-position LED headlights, illuminated door handles and indoor lighting ambient) and all models now include Air suspension, which previously was not even available in the 75, as standard. Meanwhile, improved sound, XM satellite radio (requires moonroof), Bioelectric Weapon defense mode and Subzero package (heated rear seats, steering wheel and windshield wiper) have been fused into a single $5,000 option in the S model . The X Premium upgrades Package includes all of the above, in addition to the front doors of auto-presentation for $6,000.
There seem to have been some other changes in terms of available wheel options. Model S has 19-inch silver rims, upgradeable to 19-inch grey-flow wheels for $2,500 or 21-inch grey turbine wheels for $4,500. Model X options are similar, with 20-inch base silver rims included, 20-inch sonic carbon rims for $3,000, or 22-inch black Onyx rims for $5,500. There is no longer an option for top-size silver wheels on any of the models at this time.
Tesla still offers several interior color configurations, which are mostly available for a $3,300 load from the All-Black interior standard.
