The five-seat Model 3 is powered by an all-electric propeller that produces zero emissions and could offer unprecedented levels of efficiency in its class. And Tesla says he’s already received about 500,000 orders for the car.

Each model comes with a 15IN touch screen, yet from the multimedia to the air conditioner to the car’s configuration controlled through it. This eliminates the need for physical buttons on the dashboard, and our experiences in model S and model X suggest that it should be reasonably easy to use.

Standard equipment in model 3 includes Wi – Fi, Bluetooth, Internet audio streaming, an investment camera, two USB ports, and a Keyless entry. The premium upgrade package brings heated, electrically adjustable seats, updated stereo and a revised center console with two smartphone docks.

Thanks to the compact nature of your electric motor, the interior of the Model 3 is actually more spacious than the larger S-model. And although Tesla is not quoting any numbers yet, the fact that the car has two boots – one in the front and one in the back – must give it a leading luggage space in the class.

All 3s models come with a Tesla autopilot semi-Autonomous driving system, but buyers can improve this with additional packages that allow the car to match its speed to traffic conditions and automatically change lanes. An additional package is also available to enable “full auto-driving capability” in the future.

The Model 3 dashboard design embodies the high-tech minimalism seen in the rest of the Tesla range. A 15-inch touch screen takes the center of the scene, although in Model 3 it is in the landscape orientation, while the s and X models get a portrait screen. The speed and selection of the gear of Model 3 will be shown at the top of this screen, with mapping and audio information in the mid-setting and climate control at the bottom.

Model 3 comes with those screen and cloth seats as standard, as well as 18 inch alloy wheels, Wi-Fi on board, NAV SAT, a reversing camera, 60:40 split-bending rear seats, voice activation, Bluetooth connectivity and All-round LED lights. Tesla provides a four-year/50,000-mile warranty and guarantees the battery pack for eight years/100000 miles. Although not a clipping level by itself, the $5,000 Premium package brings heated seats, which gain the power adjustment on the front. The package also adds wood trim, a up-to-date stereo, tinted solar ceiling, LED Foglights and power-folding wing mirrors.

Two versions of model 3 are available from the beginning. The standard car has a range of 220 miles (chances of being smaller in real life) and can reach miles per hour from a start of 5.6 seconds to a top speed of 130 mph. Already, this entry-level 3 model has more range than the Nissan Leaf, but is slightly smaller than the Renault Zoe.

The second variant of Model 3 focuses on the extended range and can travel up to 310 miles officially. It can cover the Sprint 0-mph at 5.1 sec and has a top speed of 140mph. In comparison, the entry-level model S can cover 298 miles officially and cover the Sprint 0-mph at 4.3 sec. The faster variants of Model 3 are likely to be offered beyond the line using the same basic electrical system. With the model S, TESLA offers four variants: the rear-wheel-drive 75, the four-wheel-drive 75D, the range-focused 100D and the run-focused p100d.

That probable £35,000 starting price makes the Model 3 a rival for the Audi A4, BMW series 3 and Jaguar XE. And remember, Model 3 will be eligible for the government’s full electric vehicle subsidy, which is currently in £4500. Right-drive cars destined to the UK are not expected to go on production until 2019, but some examples of left-hand-drive will probably be imported before that to cater to early adopters. Tesla wants to own a Model 3 to be a very practical and convenient experience. To ensure this, it is investing heavily in freight technology in all major markets, including the UK.

Like any Tesla, Model 3 can be loaded into one of the brand’s superchargers or plugged into a slower end-of-destination charger that can be installed in places like your home or work. Unlike the S model, however, Model 3 owners will not have free access to the network, although it is unclear what the TESLA pricing structure will be.
