2020 Tesla Roadster Release Date
2020 Tesla Roadster Release Date welcome to Tesla car USA designs and manufactures electric car, we hope our site can give you best experience. Tesla’s fleet of vehicles keeps growing. In the ad for the semi Tesla, the truck with autonomous capabilities, Tesla CEO Elon Musk also announced a new Roadster. With the models S, 3, and X on the way, and and on the way, you would be forgiven for forgetting the original Roadster. Before Tesla had his own factories, before there was even a Tesla car on the road, Tesla made a deal with Lotus to use the Elise chassis, and fill it with electrical viscera.
The Tesla Roadster began the rise of the electric car (or at least the cool electric car) at a time when electric cars looked like a pipe-dream and is now back, with record breaking capabilities under the hood. Musk has put his gaze on the combustion engine, and the glove has been well and really knocked down. Here you’ll find everything we know about the new Tesla Roadster so far. We will keep this piece updated with new information as and when we get it, so keep looking back for all the latest.

- Tesla Roadster: What is it?
- The new Tesla Roadster is an update of the car that started all, the original Tesla Roadster.
It is a four seater convertible sportscar with a glass roof that can be removed and put in the trunk. By the very admission of Musk you wouldn’t want to try to fit a big person in the back seats, but frankly Michael Jordan is not going to fit in the back of any sportscar on the market. It’s a traction vehicle, with three engines. One in the front, and two in the back. It is powered by a 200kWh battery.
It was officially announced as a surprise at the end of the launch event for the semi Tesla. Once the electric truck had been unveiled, the cargo drawer in the back was dramatically opened, the lights cutting off, and the new Roadster roared on stage. Then he made a very dramatic acceleration to show his capabilities, and very hilariously managed to lose the cameras so for a few seconds you could not see anything but asphalt on the livestream.
Eventually, he found his place on the stage behind Elon Musk, and began to enumerate the frankly amazing numbers behind the new electric firecracker. Tesla Roadster (if they commit the way Musk claims) will conduct three world records when she finally arrives in the streets:
- with a speed of 0-60 1.9 seconds, it will be the first mass car always produced two seconds
- 0-100 is also a record for a vehicle production at 4.2 seconds
- ending Guinness World is a 8.9 Second quarter mile
- these are not World Records of electric vehicles, these are World Records for all types of vehicles. Musk said that these are the plans for the model base Roadster, and if you follow the game
- with other vehicles, you, Tesla ll be able to increase the highest levels specs for more money.
There is another record that the Roadster is establishing as well. With a range of 620 miles in a single load, this will be the first electric vehicle capable of doing more than 1000km in a battery charge. There is also speculation that Musk aims a fifth of convicts. He said that the maximum speed of Roadster was more than 250 miles an hour. The world record of maximum speed in a mass production, road vehicle is currently 267 for Brand Bugatti Veyron (Koenigsegg Agera RS has made a higher speed, but only has produced 29 models, so let’s Brand Bugatti)
2020 Tesla Roadster Price
The Tesla Roadster is going to be $200,000 (around £150,000, au $265000) for the base model. The fact that Musk is referring to him already as a base model means that almost definitely there will be some different iterations at different price points. If you feel like bouncing with a little more money to be the first to get your hands on the new Roadster, there are a number of founders, limited to 1,000 units that cost $250,000. Although significantly expensive than the latest version of the Tesla vehicle, a price tag of $200,000 is really not so unreasonable for a sportscar with the type of performance the new Roadster is capable of.
2020 Tesla Roadster Release Date
At present we only have one year: 2020. Now, since the announcement came as a complete surprise, it is possible that production is already partly underway, but seeing as we are at the end of 2017, it is only actually two years away.
Since Tesla has been struggling to meet his goals for the production of Model 3, we are not holding our breath for a quick production of the Roadster. But you never know, if the production bottleneck is sorted for the 3, which could well mean all future teslas have faster production schedules because of it.
